INNEBANDYPLANETEN is writing new stuff about a new country! Floorball in France is increasing every day and for its 7th edition the French Championship is organised in 2 divisions gathering 8 teams in 1st and 12 in 2nd. The championship is organised in week ends were teams play two games each time, as league is still lacking of sponsors and community aid all expenses are covered by the players and thereby more convenient for all to proceed this way.
Historically the wins have come in pair with Marseille Rascasses winning the 2 first, they were followed by Paris Université Club, and more recently IFK Paris. The three teams have usually always been battling in the play-offs. This year is a changing point were one of the three leading teams should logically take it home and gather a 3rd win.
Generally level of game is enhancing every year and if yesterday some teams were overperforming, today this is no longer, every game is tough and could go either side. While more recent teams enrich from their younger players and their dynamism on the courts, the more established ones benefit from seniority and some from geographic preference leading to large number of nordic players making the difference in the game.
Last week end of Championship is early April followed by Play-Offs in Paris on the 14-15th of May, so if you are visiting the country of wine and cheese on that period do not hesitate to drop in! More info may be found on www.francefloorball.com!
